Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones Expensezzz uses, and how you can control them.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website or web app. They help the service remember information about you between visits — like keeping you signed in.
Related technologies include local storage, which stores small amounts of data directly in your browser without expiry. We use local storage to remember your cookie consent preference.
2. The cookies we use
We use essential cookies to run the service and analytics cookies to understand usage. We don't use advertising, retargeting, or social-media tracking cookies.
Session and authentication cookies
These are set by Supabase, our backend provider, to keep you signed in. Without them the app can't function. They are deleted when your session expires or when you sign out.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | Keeps you signed in to your account | Session / 1 week |
sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | Secures the authentication flow (PKCE) | Session |
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to measure how the product is used in aggregate. These cookies are set by Google and governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes anonymous visitors for usage measurement | Up to 2 years |
_ga_* | Maintains analytics session state | Up to 2 years |
Payment cookies
When you interact with payment forms or bank connection flows, Stripe sets cookies necessary for fraud prevention and secure payment processing. These are set by Stripe's domain and governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Local storage
We store one item in local storage:
| Key | Value | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
cookie_consent | "accepted" | Records that you've acknowledged this policy so we don't show the banner again |
3. What we don't use
Expensezzz does not use:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
- Third-party data brokers
4. How to manage cookies
Essential cookies are required for the app to work, so disabling them will prevent it from working correctly. You can clear cookies — or block analytics cookies — from your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data
- Safari: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
Clearing essential cookies will sign you out of Expensezzz.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or by SMS.
